Sacmi wins major contract with Chinese dairy manufacturer
CBF can produce 200 ml HDPE containers with a weight reduction of about 20%. The process is based on a continuous extrusion of the plastic, which is then cut into doses of pre-determined sizes.

This latest order doubles the existing number of CBF machines at the Chinese manufacturer to four, making the customer one of the world's biggest users of Sacmi technology.
“The decision to install the machine was determined by the anticipated boost in productivity and the lower container weight, as well as maximum process repeatability and a general increase in container quality,” said Ivan Bonzi, director, containers, Sacmi.
“The manufacturer, who prefers to stay anonymous, has worked with Sacmi before and it has installed the machine in another plant belonging to the same customer.
“The machine produces containers for drinkable yogurt for children by starting from the pellet of the resin, and then inspects them with a camera vision system.”

He added, this strategic order reinforces its position in the global dairy market and other beverage technology such as Compression Molding Machines (CCM) for the manufacture of plastic caps and modular labellers.
Additionally, the machine lifespan is longer than that seen with alternative technologies and there are no internal sealing beads which means greater resistance to high temperatures and pressure typical of pasteurisation processes.
