Fonterra announces fixed base milk price for 2019/20

Fonterra farmers in Australia participating in the company’s Fixed Base Milk Price will be paid a guaranteed price of A$6.80 (US$4.74) per kilogram of milk solids (kgMS) for a portion of their milk for the 2019/20 season.

Fonterra buys in to bio-engineered food company

New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra has taken a stake in Motif Ingredients, a US-based food ingredients company that develops and commercializes bio-engineered animal and food ingredients.

Dairy industry disputes GRAIN report on global GHG emissions

International nonprofit GRAIN has revealed that the world’s top 10 dairy companies emitted roughly 231Mt (million tons) of CO2 in 2016, the equivalent of half of France’s total GHG footprint and a quarter of the emissions emitted by Germany.
